Goldfish and The Animal Chiropractic Handler
What do goldfish have to do with animal chiropractic?
It's been research proven that today, the average human has an attention span less
than that of a goldfish! It's only about 45-seconds.
When I first graduated as a chiropractor 23-years ago (ugh, I'm getting old), I used to spend an hour with my patients educating them about the chiropractic healthcare model. Now, I'm lucky if I get less than a
minute of their attention.
TAKE-A-WAY: Decide what's most important, perfect its delivery, ensure every patient understands only that one thing.
Artificial Intelligence isn't coming for your job.
By now, you've most definitely heard about AI. If you haven't, think of AI as a really powerful computer that can think on its own, looking a lot like a human.
You've probably also heard, it's coming for your job. This might
be true if you're a computer programmer, Lawyer or General MD, but the skills you offer with your amazing hands and the healing energy (and love) you all have for the animals you care for cannot be replaced by a computer. At least that's what I believe.
TAKE-A-WAY: AI might make certain aspects of your business-life a bit more efficient, but it won't replace you. You're just too special.
Everything is going digital.
This is true. Most everything that can be replaced by a computer will be. Computers are more efficient than people, don't miss work, and don't complain. If you've been to a
grocery store lately, you've witness the replacement of live human cashiers with self-checkout computers...this isn't just a fad.
Our wars are being fought with computers. Our money will be moving in this direction as well. Human interaction is well on its way to being replaced by
digital vehicles. Our cars are starting to drive themselves and do things without our direction. We speak to little speakers in our home/on our phones and call her by human names (Alexa, Siri). This is just the beginning....
TAKE-A-WAY: If
you don't like computers, you're going to get left behind and the world could feel very far away from you. This could be seen as a good thing, but also could be very lonely and scary. Resources will become difficult if you don't know how to access them, since everything will require technology and at a least a basic understanding of how they work. Stay relevant by at least picking and choosing the tech you feel comfortable learning how to manage. (Shameless
plug: if you don't like computers or they don't like you, you're going to love ChiroSimple - it's ChiroSIMPLE not ChiroCOMPLICATED)
We feel disconnected
even though we're more connected than ever!
With all this technology, instantly connecting humans all over the world in seconds, we actually feel more disconnected than ever before.
It turns out, humans (and animals) require at least one other to be happy. I'm thankful my 2-Beagles have each other for comfort. They are so sweet and cuddle with each other every morning in front of our fire. I promise this picture was not posed, this is a common behavior.
