Â
Gooooood morning Vietnam!!!
Â
My first story I wanted to share with you is my first visit experience with a 195lb Great Dane named Shadow. A little backstory about this pup is that he was formerly owned by a drug dealer and utilized as a guard dog (rightly so with his big ol’ scary self). One day things went south and the landlord of the property ended up calling services to obtain custody of Shadow. He was then
taken into a rescue and thankfully it ended up that this dog from New York was adopted by his now loving parents here in (you guessed it) the great state of Texas.Â
Â
Fast forward to him coming into our office….
Â
He presented to our office with pretty standard issues of stiffness and trouble getting up so in my eyes a perfect candidate for care based on his history.
Â
So here I am opening the door to my treatment room after a couple quick knocks and I’m greeted with a slow and steady terrifying growl that begins to get louder as he goes to stand up and face me while I enter. So like many of you who may have had similar experiences I had a choice to make…..do I freak out and risk things going south or take a deep breath and hope for the
best?
Â
When needed, I can be cool as a cucumber, so thankfully I was able to snap out of my typical squirrel-like mental state with the amount of things I manage on a daily basis in my head and really focus on creating the environment needed for this visit.Â
